Ever have one of those nights where you crave a specific dish but don’t want to go out? This usually happens to me with Asian food. It’s still a bit intimidating to me to try these dishes at home and the flavor is never exactly like my favorite places, but it’s fun to try.

To wrap up 2013 I whipped up a batch of Jambalaya packed with flavor and spice. By combining ingredients from a few different recipes I put my own spin on this traditional creole dish. It was the perfect dish to end the year on and of course paired perfectly with some bubbly.

To start off the sauce, I always use Nina San Marzano tomatoes from Costco (comes in a 6 pound 10 oz. can) but you can use any large can of San Marzano tomatoes. The reason I chose these as the base for my sauce is that they come packed in almost no sodium.
