This summer we planted a garden that’s now bursting with onions, jalapeños, serranos, green peppers and kale. I love how versatile kale is. I’ve been eating it raw in salads and sautéing with other veggies as a side dish or filling.
When I feel like a snack I usually crave something salty and crunchy. Kale chips are a healthy quick snack.
After washing the kale I remove the center steam and cut the kale into 1 inch pieces. I toss them in a bowl with olive oil, salt, pepper and a mix of other spices. This week I added roasted garlic powder and red pepper flakes. Line a baking sheet and spread kale out to bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. I toss the kale about half way through to ensure it crisps evenly.
